Digital Files: To Sell or Not To Sell?

February 9, 2011
7:00 pmto10:00 pm

To Sell or Not to Sell In our ever changing world there are times that traditional means are brought into question. As the evolution of photography and imaging has transitioned to primarily being done with digital tools so too has the use, production and consumption of the actual images. Many in the wedding photography business began to offer digital files in addition to their packages as a means to higher sales or in some situations just to get the sale. The same is now starting to affect the family portrait studios.

This month’s program will be presented in a round-table/open forum with a speaker panel consisting of 3-4 photographers/business owners presenting their position and strategy in handling this new way of providing photographic services and products to the consumer. Their will be ample opportunity to pose questions to the panel and to those in attendance.

Whether you have or haven’t yet taken the steps towards selling your photographic work in the digital form this meeting is an opportunity to learn from your peers and help others get a better understanding of what challenges we are facing in order to be successful and stay in business for years to come.

There will be a regular print competition following the panel discussion. Deadline for submitting up to two images is 7:20PM to the Print Comp Chair – Sandy Casuga. If you have questions you may contact Sandy by email or phone at  408-515-2580. Alternately you may contact Francois Clement by email or phone at 408-507-4632.
