April’s meeting will feature Steve Kurtz with his program Staying Competitive in Today’s Fast Changing Wedding Market. Though the title says Wedding Market the underlying principles can be applied to the portrait, event and commercial markets, too.
We will also have the first expended print competition of 2012. There’s a limit of four entries per maker. If you plan on entering please arrive early so that you can submit them before the 7:15PM deadline and allow the Print Chair to process the entries and not miss much of the meeting. If you have any questions about print competition there are some new pages with general information and the 12 Elements of a Merit Image. They’re listed in the at the top of the righthand sidebar. This month’s talk by wedding photographer Steve Kurtz will focus on ways to keep tuned into today’s fast changing wedding market. Steve will discuss his approach to creating the type of images that the contemporary bride and groom demand today. He will also discuss ways to avoid the shoot and burn trend in favor of a custom product line that sets you apart from the competition.
Steve has been a wedding photographer since the 1970’s, but his contemporary shooting style on weddings has helped keep his 40 + year career moving forward.
