Richard Stahlberg: A Journey to Innerspace

May 9, 2012
7:30 pmto9:00 pm
Portrait of Richard Stahlberg

In the May 9th program, “A Journey to Innerspace….. The Zen and the Art of Underwater Photography”, Richard will discuss the equipment, mechanics, and knowledge needed to produce quality and creative underwater photographic images.

Throughout the presentation Richard will be showing, (in an interesting and humorous fashion), a variety of examples of how the water and depth affect not only the lighting but the quality of your images as well.

The presentation will also include a Slide Show of images Richard captured while diving the islands of Palau in the South Pacific, (and the unexpected things that happened along the way!) Palau is considered to be one of the most beautiful and desirable dive destinations in the world.

During World War II, there were major military battles on the islands of Palau which left scores of planes and ships on the ocean floor. Over the decades since the end of the War, the sunken planes and ships have become artificial reefs and are now home to some of the most beautiful underwater landscapes in the world.

If you have any questions about print competition there are some new pages with general information and the 12 Elements of a Merit Image. They’re listed in the at the top of the righthand sidebar. If you still have questions contact the print comp chairperson, Sandy Casuga or Francois Clement with your questions.
