Over the last 20 years or so, PPSCV member Gary Rather has been doing motor sports event photography, shooting lots of images then hopefully selling them. Motorcycle road racing is a short career due to money, family and other life changes, and eventually the riders or their families think back and want more of Gary’s photographs from the Glory Days.

©Gary Rather Your event might be a wedding, portrait session, maternity shoot or even the family vacation, but the concept of archiving, storing and retrieval is the same for everyone.  The Glory Days are always remembered.

As soon as a customer calls, or the spouse asks “Can I get a print of (fill in blank) from last (fill in vague time frame),” the first thing that comes to mind is, “Where is that file?”  Rather than turn a customer down, or spend hours searching, Gary can quickly find those images. His system worked in the film days and has evolved to work in these “Digital Days” as well.

©Gary Rather Gary will share his approach to organizing data and then going back to find it. So you’ll never have to tell a customer “No I am sorry I can’t find your images from the Glory Days.”  And you won’t have to spend your weekend searching for them, either.
